About Mathew Tanner
Mathew Tanner has called Cache Valley, Utah home for more than 35 years and has been turning wood for over two decades, studying under several renowned woodturning masters along the way. He works almost entirely with locally sourced and rescued wood: newly felled trees, burn-pile castoffs, and overlooked pieces that others would discard. Each piece is one of a kind, shaped to reveal the grain, figure, and character already hidden inside the wood.
Collaborations
Several pieces feature hand-burned designs by woodburning artists Emily Graham and Jennilyn Tanner.
See Mathew's work in person at The Artists' Gallery, 43 S. Main, Logan, Utah.
